The Boston Fleet extend their unbeaten streak as they take down the Goldeneyes at home!
The Boston Fleet beat the Vancouver Goldeneyes on Wednesday with a 2-0 score. The Goldeneyes, who currently sit at 7th in the standings, have yet to win a game in regulation. The Fleet continue to stay at the top of the standings, and have extended their record to 3-0-0-0.
The two goals for the Fleet came from Abby Newhook in the first period and Jill Saulnier in the third period to finish the game off. The Fleet did outshoot the Goldeneyes 31-21. Fleet Goaltender Aerin Frankel held down the net with all 21 saves, leading her to her second shutout of the season. Only two penalties came in this game, with both from the Vancouver side in the first period.
The Fleet labeled this game as a “Home Opener” since it was the first game of the season at Agganis Arena in Boston. They have, however, already had a game at Tsongas Center in Lowell, which was also considered a “Home Opener”. Regardless, the Fleet were able to put on a show for the 3500 fans who filled Agganis that night.
The Fleet’s next game is on Sunday, Dec. 7 against the Minnesota Frost at 3 p.m. The Frost, who currently sit at 2nd in the standings behind the Fleet, are coming off a dominating 5-1 game against the Ottawa Charge. The Boston Fleet are looking to extend their unbeaten ride, while the Minnesota Frost will seek to extend their win streak. You can catch this game on NESN, Fanduel Sports Network and in Canada on Sportsnet.
