Let’s welcome Sammy Smith back to Boston!
New England native Sammy Smith grew up in Hanson, Massachusetts. Smith played for the South Shore Select in her younger years, until she attended Boston College, where she not only played but started in all 18 of her first-season games as an Eagle.
In three out of her four seasons with Boston College, Sammy Smith held the spot as the lead scorer. In 2023, Smith transferred to Texas A&M for her fifth year as a collegiate athlete, and in 22 games, she scored three goals and made seven assists.
Sammy Smith went international when she played for an Icelandic club called Breiðablik, a first division team. Smith achieved a lot during her time in Iceland, including winning league titles in the same year in both the first division with Breiðablik and the second division with club FHL.
After being deemed a free agent, the Boston Legacy signed Sammy Smith to a two-year contract starting in January 2026. Along with many Legacy fans, we here at WotNE are excited to see what Smith accomplishes now that she is back in Boston!
