Built by the Tide, Defined by the Standard

Inside Tabor Academy Girls Basketball: A NEPSAC powerhouse of culture, commitment and collegiate excellence.

The Tabor Academy girls basketball program has become one of the most respected and consistent forces in New England prep basketball, not just because of wins and rankings, but because of the standard it sets. Competing annually in the ISL and NEPSAC Class AAA, Tabor is known for producing high-IQ players, college-ready leaders and teams that play with purpose, connection and edge.

This is a program where talent is elevated by culture – and where individual success is inseparable from the group.

Tabor basketball is rooted in discipline, toughness and trust. The Seawolves play an unselfish brand of basketball that values spacing, defensive effort and decision-making. Every player understands their role, and every role matters.

The program’s success isn’t defined by one season or one player – it’s sustained by generations of athletes who have embraced accountability and carried the program’s values forward. That continuity is what allows Tabor to reload, not rebuild.

At the center of Tabor’s current success is Molly Corcoran, a senior guard committed to Colgate University, and the unquestioned heartbeat of the team. Corcoran does far more than score or facilitate – she orchestrates. She controls pace, makes winning reads and brings a calm intensity that steadies the group in big moments. Her leadership is visible in the way teammates move with confidence when she’s on the floor.

What separates Molly isn’t just skill – it’s command. Her court vision and decision-making allow Tabor’s offense to flow seamlessly. She makes everyone around her better. Corcoran competes on both ends of the floor by applying ball pressure defensively while initiating offense with poise and confidence. She has the best mid-range pull up in New England. As a senior, she sets the tone daily – in practice, in preparation and in pressure situations.

Her commitment to Colgate reflects her basketball IQ, toughness and ability to thrive in a system that values discipline and execution – traits she’s sharpened at Tabor.

Adding another layer to Tabor’s story is the presence of Corcoran’s teammate – Lauren Fitzgerald, a junior who is also committed to Colgate for women’s basketball. The shared commitment speaks volumes about both players’ understanding of the game and Colgate’s belief in the Tabor program.

Their chemistry, friendship, trust and familiarity elevate the team dynamic. They push each other daily, set a competitive standard and embody the program’s emphasis on playing the right way.

Corrine Lomax has emerged as one of Tabor’s most intriguing rising talents. A versatile and athletic player whose length and confidence has helped her earn 1,000 points as a junior. She has 14 Division I offers, including Miami, Harvard and Rutgers. She brings energy, shot-making ability and defensive versatility, representing the next wave of Tabor talent ready to break through on the national recruiting stage.

Few players have left a larger national imprint at Tabor than Kaelyn Carroll, who is now at the University of Kentucky. A dominant, positionless guard with elite scoring ability, Carroll’s time at Tabor reinforced the program’s reputation as a launchpad for major talent. Her success at the SEC level continues to reflect positively on the Seawolves – proof that Tabor prepares players not just to arrive at the next level, but to thrive there.

Before the current stars, there was Alex Giannaros – a name that still defines excellence at Tabor. Giannaros went on to play at Boston University, where she didn’t just contribute – she rewrote the record books. In the 2022-23 season, she was the NCAA Division I Three-Point Percentage Statistical Champion. In 2024, Giannaros won the AHEPA William G. Chirgotis Most Outstanding College Athlete Award. For the Terriers, she broke the program’s single-season scoring record, set program records in made three-pointers, and finished her career as one of the most prolific scorers in school history.

Her success established a blueprint for what Tabor guards could become: skilled, fearless and ready for the biggest moments. Giannaros remains a powerful example of how Tabor develops players who leave a lasting impact at the collegiate level.

What truly separates Tabor is how connected the team is.

This is a group that celebrates each other’s success, communicates constantly and competes together. Seniors lead, underclassmen step up and everyone buys into the same goal. Practices are intense but supportive; games are played with trust and togetherness.

The result? A team that is difficult to scout, difficult to break and dangers late in games.

With Molly Corcoran leading the charge, collegiate commitments throughout the roster and a culture rooted in accountability and unity, Tabor Academy girls basketball remains one of the Northeast’s premier programs – both now and for years to come.

This is more than a team. It’s a standard.
