This was the game we have all been waiting for. The Boston Legacy FC made their debut in the National Women’s Soccer League at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where they faced the New York Gotham FC. With the stadium packed with roughly 30,000 fans, the support was incredible.
Though this game did not go in favor of Boston, it was a solid step in the right direction. Overall, Gotham FC won 1-0. That being said, the Legacy FC held their own. With 353 total passes, three corners, 11 crosses and having possession of the game for 47 percent of the time, Legacy FC has come to prove themselves to the rest of the league.
Saturday, March 21, the Legacy FC takes on Houston Dash in Houston, Texas at Shell Energy Stadium. The players have a week to prepare and learn from their first game to make themselves the best they can be.
