PREVIEW: Boston Fleet vs. Ottawa Charge Game 3

With the series tied 1-1, Boston heads to Ottawa looking to rebound while the Charge aim to build off their Game 2 victory at Canadian Tire Centre.

The Boston Fleet and Ottawa Charge are set for another tight playoff battle Friday night as the series shifts to the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa for Game 3. With the series split 1-1, both teams enter the matchup looking to grab momentum in what has already become a physical, defensive series.

Ottawa enters the night coming off a 3-1 win over Boston on May 2, bouncing back after dropping Game 1 in Boston. The Charge have leaned on balanced scoring and strong defensive structure through the opening games, with defenders like Jocelyne Larocque making a major impact offensively. Larocque leads Ottawa with three points, while Rory Guilday and Rebecca Leslie have each added two assists.

Boston will look to respond behind stars like Alina Müller, who leads the Fleet with three points through the two games. Megan Keller and Jamie Lee Rattray have also contributed offensively, but the Fleet are still searching for consistency on the power play after going 0-for-7 in the series so far.

Ottawa has converted once on nine power play opportunities and owns a perfect penalty kill through two games, while Boston’s penalty kill has been solid at 88.9%. In a series where scoring chances have been limited, capitalizing with the extra skater may ultimately swing Game 3.

With both teams sitting at identical 1-1 records and neither side giving much defensively, Friday night’s matchup is expected to be another intense, playoff-style battle where goaltending, discipline and timely scoring could determine who takes control of the series.

Catch the Fleet at Ottawa at 7 p.m., or on the PWHL YouTube channel and local broadcasting channels.
