RECAP: Connecticut Sun vs. Seattle Storm

The storm rumbled a win from the Sun in last night’s match.

The match was quite a game, but the final score ended at 77-59, the Storm snatching the win.

The first points earned were from the Sun’s Aaliyah Edwards with a two-point running layup. Diamond Miller then scored a two-point floating jump shot followed by a two-point running layup. The Suns kept possession, eventually leading 21-19 by the end of the first quarter.

In the second, Connecticut started off strong with Hailey Van Lith’s two-point pull-up jump shot. But after Nell Angloma’s shooting foul, the Seattle Storm’s Zia Cooke made both of her free throws. At this point, the game took a turn away from a Connecticut win. At halftime, the score was 28-37 with Seattle in the lead.

The second half of the game consisted of a lot of back and forth. But even with the efforts from the Sun, quarter three ended at 43-53, and the Storm still rumbled ahead.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Hailey Van Lith made a three-point jump shot in an attempt to break through the Storm’s score. But soon after, a shooting foul against Connecticut, Zia Cooke made her free throws, nearly cancelling out the newly earned points. Overall, the Sun shone as bright as they could, but the Storm kept them covered in the end.
