The Boston Legacy drop their second game in a row with a 1-0 loss to the Kansas City Current.
The Boston Legacy created chances early on. Forward Amanda Gutierres created great plays up the field, while midfielder Alba Caño had a few shots on goal. Despite the momentum on offense, the Legacy were held scoreless through the first half.
In the second half, the Current were testing the Legacy’s back line. In the 69th minute, forward Temwa Chawinga scored her seventh goal of the season, putting the Current up 1-0. She is now tied for second place in the golden boot race. The Legacy were unable to find the back of the net throughout the rest of the game.
This loss was Boston’s second in a row.
The club went on a five-game unbeaten streak before dropping their two recent outings. With each game, the Legacy continues to find their chemistry.
The Legacy’s next game is not until July 5, when they will take on Bay FC at home.
