Murphy’s performances at the club level also opened the door for a larger role with the United States women’s national team. She earned her first senior call-up in 2021 and became part of the U.S. goalkeeping pool, alongside veterans such as Alyssa Naeher. Murphy made her international debut in 2021 and continued to earn opportunities through strong club performances. She was selected to represent the United States at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, serving as one of the team’s three goalkeepers.
Throughout her career, Murphy has been recognized for her composure under pressure, strong positioning and ability to make difficult saves look routine.
