Local College Athlete Spotlight: Caroline Galvani, Sophomore at Westfield State University

Caroline Galvani may only be a sophomore, but she is already making her mark.

Caroline Galvani was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, just over 30 minutes away from Boston. She is a sophomore who plays guard on the varsity women’s basketball team at Westfield State University (WSU).

Galvani has been playing basketball since she was in the 3rd grade. Watching her big sister play is what inspired her to start. She really loves the team aspect of the game, and that’s exactly what drew her to WSU. She said she “loves the coach and girls on the team.”

When Galvani was a freshman, she was a starter, and she has only gone up from there. In the 2024-25 season, Galvani had a total of 143 points. Already in January, she has matched that in the 2025-26 season.

So far this year, Galvani has played a crucial role in the team’s success. She currently averages 75.0% from the free-throw line and averages 9.5 points per game. Galvani says since last year she has been “working on her shot because that is a big part of the game.” She also noted that she has been working on “getting steals on defense,” adding that if her shots aren’t falling, she wants to be able to contribute in another way.

The season is far from over, and Galvani is only improving as the season goes on. We can’t wait to see what she does for the rest of this season and her next two years at WSU.
