A guide of what to watch this weekend for women’s sports in the Northeast.
The 2026 Winter Olympic Games are underway, with some familiar faces from the Boston Fleet. Defenders Megan Keller and Haley Winn, as well as goaltender Aerin Frankel, compete this Friday afternoon for Team USA in the women’s ice hockey quarterfinals.
There are many college women’s ice hockey games throughout the weekend. This Friday, Feb. 13, the University of Connecticut takes on New Hampshire at 2 p.m., while Vermont takes on Maine during that time. Union College and Dartmouth face off at 3 p.m. For the 6 p.m. time slot, Boston College is against Providence College, Boston University takes on Northeastern, and Brown University goes up against Quinnipiac.
On Saturday, Feb. 14, the undefeated UConn women’s basketball team plays against Marquette at 1 p.m. College lacrosse season has just started up again. The University of Vermont takes on UMass Amherst at 12 p.m. UMass Lowell is against Yale at 1 p.m. The Unrivaled 1v1 tournament finals kick off at 6 p.m. Aaliyah Edwards and Saniya Rivers look to continue their run.
Sunday, Feb. 15, closes out the weekend with women’s ice hockey. Vermont has a game against Merrimack at 2 p.m. and Boston College is playing against Northeastern at 3:30 p.m.
Overall, this weekend is action-packed! Between the Olympic Games, the Unrivaled 1v1 tournament and tons of college games, there is a lot of excitement ahead.
