Boston Guard midfielder and Notre Dame alumna, Kasey Choma is ready for the season!
The WLL (Women’s Lacrosse League) is mere weeks away from its opening Championship Series. The series will take place Feb. 27. Among this roster sits an incredibly talented midfielder, Kasey Choma. Choma has established herself as one of the most accomplished midfielders in recent women’s lacrosse. From her home state of New York to the national team, her impact on the field has drawn attention.
She began her sports career at the University of Notre Dame, where she became a pillar of the program. As a graduate student in 2024, she started all 20 games and earned multiple honors, including All-ACC First Team honors and USA Lacrosse First Team All-American. She set the program’s record for most games played, at 85, and finished her career with an impressive 251 goals. She was only the second person in Notre Dame history to hit 250 career goals.
Choma also has experience with the national team. Choma played for the USA Women’s U19 team in 2019. She participated in the World Lacrosse Women’s U19 Championship, representing the U.S. on one of the biggest youth stages. In the opening match of the tournament, she was named Player of the Match after scoring a hat trick for the team. She had eight goals and eight assists registered to her name, and was a part of the USA’s winning roster in a 7-0 performance.
She went on to be a part of the historic WLL team, the Boston Guard. The Guard won the 2025 WLL Championship Series, which was the first-ever series. The Boston Guard was written into history by winning the inaugural title. Choma’s inclusion on this championship roster places with the first professional women’s lacrosse champions. A huge milestone in the sport’s continued growth.
Kasey Choma’s path from competitive youth competitions to an attention-grabbing collegiate career goes on to show the full opportunities for achievements in women’s lacrosse. As the WLL continues to evolve, her role with the Boston Guard showcases her as a proven champion and ultimately a player to watch as the upcoming Championship Series and full season approaches.
