Learn more about one of the Boston Guard’s 2026 WLL Draft picks.
Shea Baker was drafted by the Guard 7th overall in the 2026 WLL draft. She will not be far from home, as her collegiate career was with the Boston College Eagles.
Baker developed into a key two-way midfielder across her time in Chestnut Hill, contributing in every phase of the game. Over the course of her collegiate career, she appeared in more than 70 games, finishing with 29 points on 20 goals and 10 assists.
Her role often required her to match up against top opposing players, chase possessions, and create extra opportunities; areas that don’t always show up in highlight reels but are critical to winning at the highest level. Baker’s ability to contribute across the stat sheet made her one of the team’s most reliable all-around midfielders.
In her collegiate career, Baker has caused 86 turnovers, 17 ground balls, and 22 draw controls with 20 goals and nine assists. Last season, she was awarded ACC Defender of the Year. Along with this, Baker was named to the Top 25 Tewaaraton Watch List. Baker leads the Eagles in points this season with 43 caused turnovers and 37 ground balls. She will also be playing with the U.S. Senior National Team this summer at the World Lacrosse World Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
Individually, Baker earned recognition for her academic and athletic commitment, including selection to the ACC Academic Honor Roll, reflecting her discipline both on the field and in the classroom.
Baker will be a great addition to the Boston Guard, joining many former Eagles on the Guard’s roster.
