Connecticut looks to bounce back after falling to Chicago as it wraps up its road trip.
The Connecticut Sun continue their road trip on Sunday, Aug. 2, with a matchup against the Dallas Wings. Connecticut enters the contest looking to bounce back after a 94-88 loss to the Chicago Sky, while Dallas looks to build momentum on its home court.
The Sun will aim to regroup after letting a first-half lead slip away against Chicago. Connecticut controlled much of the opening half before the Sky mounted a comeback, giving the Sun plenty of positives to build on despite the result. Continuing to limit turnovers and maintaining consistency on both ends of the floor will be key against a Dallas team capable of pushing the pace.
Dallas enters the matchup with one of the league’s most dynamic young rosters. Led by standout Paige Bueckers and veteran contributors, the Wings have shown the ability to generate offense in transition while creating scoring opportunities from beyond the arc. Connecticut will need to match that offensive tempo while continuing to establish its presence in the paint.
One player to watch for the Sun is Olivia Nelson-Ododa, who is coming off one of her strongest performances of the season after recording 16 points and making an impact on the glass and defensively against Chicago. Leïla Lacan will also look to build on her recent play after surpassing 500 career points in the loss to the Sky.
Sunday’s matchup presents another opportunity for Connecticut’s young roster to continue its development while looking to get back in the win column before returning home.
