The Fleet will open the 2026-27 PWHL season on the road before welcoming the Ottawa Charge to their new home at Agganis Arena.
On Monday, Sept. 28, the Professional Women’s Hockey League announced that the 2026-27 season will begin Dec. 5. For the Boston Fleet, the season will begin on the road before the team returns to Boston for its home opener at its new primary home, Agganis Arena.
The Fleet will host the Ottawa Charge on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. for their first home game of the season. The matchup will also give Boston an early opportunity to face the team that ended its 2026 playoff run.
The Charge defeated the Fleet 3-1 in their Walter Cup semifinal series last spring, with Ottawa winning Game 4 in double overtime to advance.
Now, just months later, the two teams will meet again, this time in Boston’s new home.
The move to Agganis Arena marks a new chapter for the Fleet. In July, the team announced that Agganis would become its primary home venue for the 2026-27 season, moving the team to Boston full-time after previously splitting home games between Boston and Lowell.
For Fleet fans, the Dec.9 matchup will be more than just the team’s first home game of the season. It will be the first chance to see the Fleet begin its new era at Agganis Arena, while facing a familiar opponent from last season’s playoffs.
