Athlete of the Week: Addie DelOrefice

Assisting the Catamounts in a 2-0 week and being the America East Offensive Player of the Week, Addie DelOrefice is our Athlete of the Week.

Vermont forward Addie DelOrefice has been one of the Catamounts’ top offensive players, helping Vermont extend its winning streak and establish itself near the top of the America East. Entering the Sept. 22 matchup with Merrimack, DelOrefice was already fifth in the conference in points per game at 1.50.

In Vermont’s 6-0 shutout victory over Merrimack, she scored the Catamounts’ fourth goal of the game in the third quarter, finishing a play set up by Fiona McMahon. She then became key in the fourth quarter, assisting on both of Alicia Battistelli’s goals as Vermont pulled away.

Her strongest performance was against Dartmouth. DelOrefice scored both goals in Vermont’s 2-0 shutout victory, giving her four points and directly accounting for the entire Catamount offense. She opened the scoring just 3:27 into the game by collecting a loose ball in front of the Dartmouth goal and batting it past the goalkeeper. She later added her second goal to complete the Catamounts’ scoring. The performance extended Vermont’s winning streak to four games and highlighted DelOrefice’s ability to produce in close games.

This led DelOrefice to become not only the top goal scorer in her conference, but earned honors as America East’s Offensive Player of the Week and Vermont’s Student Athlete of the Week.
