RECAP: Boston Legacy Close Out Home Schedule With 2-1 Win Over Racing Louisville

Deja Davis scores the second-half winner as Boston earns a victory in its final regular-season home match.

The Boston Legacy played their final home game of the season defeating the Racing Louisville 2-1 Friday night at Gillette Stadium.

After a weather delay, Gutierres opened the scoring in the ninth minute, finishing a cross from Bianca St-Georges to give Boston the lead. The goal marked Gutierres’ 10th of the season.

Racing Louisville responded in the 22nd minute when Kayla Fischer capitalized on a defensive mistake to level the score at 1-1.

The teams entered halftime tied, but Boston regained the advantage shortly after the break. In the 51st minute, Sarah Schupansky delivered a ball into the box, where Davis headed it into the net for her first career NWSL goal.

Racing pushed for another equalizer late in the match, recording seven of the game’s final eight shots. However, Boston held on to earn the 2-1 win.

The Legacy finished with 19 shots, including six on target, while Louisville recorded 14 shots and five on target.

Friday’s victory marked Boston’s first home win since July 25. Although the Legacy have been eliminated from playoff contention, the result gave the team a positive finish to its home schedule with two regular-season matches remaining.

Boston will look to carry that momentum into its final two games as it wraps up its inaugural NWSL season.
